.cloth diaper update.

IT'S OFFICIAL! We are doing it!
... and loving it!

I'll be completely honest, the first couple of days sucked. My diapers
were leaking, my husband wasn't 100% sold on the idea, and my son
decided it was going to poop (TMI alert, sorry) 4 times on day one.
I was not impressed.

But I stuck with it and I couldn't be happier!
Actually, I could kick my ass for not doing it sooner. But live and learn, right?

I prepped my diapers a bit more, worked on getting the fit right
and BAM! Suddenly we were cloth diapering... like a boss.

You can barely see his diaper, but I couldn't pass on sharing this picture!
I die for those chubby cheeks and thunder thighs.

I encourage anyone interested in cloth diapering to give it a try. Even if you only
pick up a couple diapers to start, go for it! It's easier then I ever thought.

I have to give credit where credit is due.
I stumbled on a YouTube channel where a woman
showed just how simple it can all be, and I have since
reference her to two of my friends.
She'll probably never see this, but thanks Kelli!

You can bet your last dollar that if Captain America wore cloth diapers
as a baby, they looked EXACTLY like the one pictured above.

:)

instagram = the blogger KILLER.

Ugh. Frick. I've done it again.

I originally had big aspirations for this blog, but I keep failing at making
time for it. Not to sound like I'm full of excuses, but seriously
INSTAGRAM is KILLING my blogging.

I post pictures ALL THE TIME and it has
literally become a picture-book-like-blog.

So that's that. But I'm back and I'm going to try harder.

From PINTEREST to real life.

Like most Pinterest users, I pin dozens of ideas with a genuine
hope/want of following through on them. Let's just say my ratio of completed projects
to great-ideas-yet-to-be-attempted is about 1:217.

But I did recreate a book nook for my children, and I have to say,
it's by far my favorite Pinterest inspired decor.

Here's the original pin:

And here's how it translated in our home:

In the hallway on the second level of our house, there's this ridiculous, useless (until now) alcove.
It used to drive me crazy. I never understood the reason for the recess in the wall.
But now that I have a purpose for it, I'm thrilled that it exists!

(That's also a homemade chalk board hanging above the gutter bookshelves...
because they're AMAZING!)

Now if I could just finish the bench for under the shelves. I've only
been planning it out in my mind for months...

Top 3 FAVORITE movies of ALL TIME.

When I stumbled upon this blog post idea, I thought it would be A LOT
harder to write then it turned out to be.
Top 3 favorite movies.
Seems simple enough.
Maybe I got off easy because I didn't over think it. But I can totally
understand how picking only 3 movies could be difficult.

So here goes....

1. Pride and Prejudice. The Keira Knightly/Matthew Macfadyen version.
Without question, my favorite movie of all time.

"You have bewitched me. Body and soul. And I love. I love. I love you.
I never wish to be parted from you from this day on." -Mr. Darcy

I could die every time I hear that line.

2. While You Were Sleeping.
I really like Sandra Bullock's quirky character.

3. On Golden Pond.
Love Katharine Hepburn. LOVE.
This movie also has sentimental value--reminds me
of my Grandfather.

That's it! My 3 favorite movies of all time! Short and sweet!

:)

My life.

I damn near sprayed hot coffee in laughter all over my
computer screen when I saw this picture.
This is my life.
This is EXACTLY how I feel.

TOO PERFECT to not share.
