fall favorites

The mornings are getting pretty chilly here
in Minnesota, so naturally, I'm even more anxious
for fall than before.

I've already found a few must-have's for the season:

Pumpkin Spice Candles: Well actually, pumpkin spice ANYTHING.
But burning pumpkin spice candles around my house is a must.

Essie polish in WICKED: I love this color! Enough said.

Oversized Sweaters: I love pairing oversized sweaters with leggings
(doesn't everyone?!) on chilly days.

Scarves: I'm pretty sure I have a scarf in every color. They are a STAPLE
in my wardrobe.

Coffee: This is a life essential all year.

Leather bag: I just love caramel colored anything. It can be paired
with black and brown, and those are primary colors in my world.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette: You can't go wrong with these colors.

Riding Boots: Duh. Every girl needs a pair.

Happy Fall everyone!

...Cameron's first day of PRESCHOOL...

As if Eva dancing wasn't hard enough,
Cameron is in school now.

He's such a social boy and makes friends no matter
where he goes, so I knew he was ready for preschool
despite being the YOUNGEST person in his class
(his birthday is August 31st).

After WEEKS of talking about it and getting excited,
the day finally came...

We walked him to his room, he stuffed his backpack into his cubby,
and he was off.

Just like that, he was a preschooler.

I don't know who cried more. Me, because he's still
the little baby that changed my whole life, or his sister
because he got to stay and she didn't.

His first day went great!
He loves school, though I'm sure that won't be the case when he's 17.
Ugh... enough about his turning 17.
That can never happen.

He even got to celebrate his birthday on the first day
since it was just a few days before!

All in all, I couldn't have gone better.

Tiny dancer.

If you would have asked me even 6 months ago
if I was prepared to have kids involved in activities and going to school
... and all of the chauffeuring that comes with it,
I would have said no.

6 months ago, I honestly felt like I had YEARS before my
children would be involved in things outside our home.

Um... not that case.

Eva is in dance now!
(And Cameron is in school, but I'll get to that.)

Cripes, nothing makes you feel more like babies are a thing of the
past than watching your children take lessons or participate in sports.

She suddenly seems so grown up.
My 7 pound 4 ounce baby is TOTALLY gone.
If I didn't already know that, I certainly do now.

And as disheartening as that is, it's equally exciting to see her
enjoy something and learn new things.

Yep, my daughter is a dancer.

She couldn't have been more excited!

Please excuse the poor quality of photos taken during class itself.
I was shooting through a one-way window and should have used
auto focus instead of manual.
Oh well. I TRIED!

More JP

A few posts ago, I did a 1 year update for Mr. JP.
Even though he's now almost 15 months, I still can't
believe how long its been since he joined us.

Feels like yesterday...

That being said, here are a few photos we took with
our beloved chalk board to commemorate is birthday.

He's such a ham!

I'm such a lucky Mommy.

FINALLY!

For dang sake!
I can't believe it's been almost 3 months since my last post!
How the heck am I ever going to be a serious blogger when I'm
such an inconsistent writer?! I guess for now I'll stick to
the land of wannabes.

If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, you'll
know that this is at least the third time I've gone on hiatus in the last year.
I really have no excuse for my behavior other than that
I've been burning the candle at both ends before the sun rises
each day, and long before it sets.

As much as I want this blog to be successful, I can't justify taking time away
from my family or other life activities to sit down at my computer.

But who doesn't have ten minutes to spare?!
I KNOW I can make a better effort.

Wah. Wah.
It's the same story folks!

Phew. Here goes...
